Never heard of this before, and the ad is a bit dumb, but hey, you can't say you didn't know to celebrate on Saturday. I'll sit this out, I never put energy towards being against something.
First, no one's heard of this day or the people running it, as near i can tell.
Second, it's a waste to be against something that everyone's supposed to be against. We just had a march in SF, I believe, where feminists were saying No to rape... umm, did I miss a meeting? Who is on the other side of this issue, aside from rapists? Waste of time. Makes people feel good for a worthless gesture, but otherwise, no point.
Third, why have a day to prove a point on a weekend? No one bringing it up at school, work, or anywhere else. And, unlike pride, it doesn't seem like it has a party vibe, so another strike.
I'm a hard sell, though. I got a call recently where someone said they were raising money to find a cure for breast cancer. I told them, "there is a cure, don't eat animal products, especially dairy, and you won't get it." Immediately had the operator off her script. Apparently there is no planned response for that. So, i told her what books have the information, etc. Of course, that's not the real thing they want to hear, it's more like, how can I do everything i want and then when my choices catch up to me, take a pill to fix it? Boring. I ain't paying for that. Of course, no one wants to think that people in their lives might still be alive if they didn't drink dairy, so... what can you do?
On a similar (vegan) note, Al Gore was grilling steaks in his recent Rolling Stone interview where he said everything must be done to fight global warming. So, you have to wonder how Mr. Environment doesn't know that the animal agriculture industry is responsible for as much in the way of emissions as cars. Of course he knows, but he's a politician first, and he knows if he starts talking about cow farts, people will think he's a nut case.
OK, I think that's the second or third tangent. Certainly enough for one reply. :-)

then you have a calcium defeciency.
also I think you can burn those cow farts for cleaner energy (methane).also I think that rape thing is a visibility issue. enough women don't report as it is.

I think...
Cows are vegetarian, get the calcium from plant-based sources. Sure, if you eat a lousy veggie diet without a lot of greens you won't get enough, but I'm covered. The dairy industry wants you to think you need dairy for calcium levels, totally untrue.
I don't know what *can* be done with methane. I do know around 25% of greenhouses gases at present contributing to global warming are from cow farts that aren't being treated in any way. So, doesn't matter what can be done if it isn't.
As for visibility, that's fine. But they clearly say they are against rape when they march. Political action is only effective if it makes sense, and you empower people to do something about it. If the vast majority of people are against rape, and that's your message, you're wasting your time. If they have a useful message and every year, the media report that they are "against rape," they need better PR people.
